True, but I kinda like Eastern Europe. They've got that perfect blend of extreme nationalism combined with the conscious knowledge that they live in a shit hole. It makes for good times.
But those damn Russian pinkos gulag'd my great grandfather. I'd be resentful, except if they hadn't I would probably be living in Russia right now. Me and Svetlana could have been BFFs and we could have sat in internet caf�s together eating turnips and posting mail order bride advertisements.

We arent talking about Eastern Europe. We are talking about Russia. Eastern Europe has been squarely in the Western cultural sphere for over a millenium. Prague was over 1000 years ago one of the major centers of Western christianity, Poland has been a part of the Western cultural spehere for over a millenium and had been one of the major continental Roman Catholic powers for half a millenium. Hungary is another one.
We are talking about a backwards place like Russia which for its entire history has been an uncivilized, cruel vipers nest of the worst kind. They still havent evolved from the days of their backwards tsars. Its a place where crime and corruption characterized by a total lack of humanity has reigned for nearly a millenium.
A Potemkin state it still remains, a barely functional hell hole run by gangsters and criminals and Putin. |

The point is very obvious - American troops are too stupid to occupy a nation like Iraq successfully given the ability that exists to spread information today. There was no question that proof of humilitation, murder, and torture were going to come out. For everyone one thing we've seen there are probably 10 or 20 or more we haven't. It just goes to show why America can't win this. |
