The story:
http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200702/200702090008.html
I could find no mention (or at least no significant mention) of this story in the Korean version of Chosun..unless it was an older story on the Korean site and is no longer front page news.
It's really just a regurjitation of the Russia passes Korea story a while back and though both of those countries are still far behind Korea in terms of GDP / capita of population, maybe it hurts a little more that it's an Asian country this time.
I believe Korea is second right now (after Japan) in terms of GDP / capita if you discount city states like Singapore. Korea has had a violent and rapid accession into the #2 spot and the amount of sacrifices made to support the rapid growth of the country seem staggeringly high. What are your thoughts if any? |

Taiwan and Brunei just to name a few other East Asian countries and a few Middle East countries beat them in the per capita game, as well. |
