As some people know, I'm into sharing resources and trying to create a material rich environment for teachers here in Korea - especially new teachers who really need the backup/support.

Lots on my website, in particular the books and karaoke. But recently I've added an Adobe Acrobat section. You'll need .pdf / acrobat, to view the files. Click on the Adobe Acrobat button on my website to access the files.

Lots there and only the tip of the iceberg. Will upload more in the next few weeks as well add a part to my site where I can share all the educational software I have and which is so costly. But in this file you'll find:

TESOL / IELTS practice tests
Heinmann Activity blackline masters (elementary)
Ontario Reader (great reading/comprehension book)
Communication activities (photocopiable A/B activities)
Grammar resource books
General ESL resource books (ex. Interchange/Cambridge)
Phonics workbooks
Picture Dictionaries
Colouring books
General - Grade level educational workbooks
Mad Libs
Holiday Activity Sheets/exercises

Please use my messageboard for any questions or also let me know what you find particularly useful.

Also since this is black History month, see the video section for "I have a dream" in video and karaoke (audio of the speech with text).

I have a projector and an eboard in my classroom so games like Big Board take on a very hollywood feel. The kids are LOOOOOVING it - and so are my coteachers and I. This is an awesome thing you are doing - thank you.

It hella rocks!! ddeubel you really have no idea the debt that my students and I owe you. I keep a pretty dynamic classroom, but this has ramped it up a notch.

Gotcha - play it through, stuff can get corrupted in the transfer. I don't have any glitches in the copy I have.

Props to ddeubel, in such a big way!

Thanks kimchi. That is one thing I hope to simplify in the next month. An easier way to find things. Though, I still want to keep the no nonsense approach of just putting up resources and letting teacher's browse/decide what they can use in their classroom. I find this the best way, instead of so much detail and coaching etc......Teachers can look, see the possibility in their own classroom environment and say yes, or no. But I will try to offer a little more description in the future, as well as create a way of highlighting popular choices.

Most popular so far is Top 5. Proud of this Family Feud style game. Best to use with teams and the worksheet. All students choose the Top 5. Team leader counts their points as a group. So you have a team winner and then also the overall individual winner.

I would also ask if anyone makes a new game, Jeopardy, Big Board, Deal or no Deal etc...... and they find it might be useable in another's classroom -- to pass it on and I will post it. This is also one of the original ideas I had in mind regarding sharing. Getting a large enough database of created games so teachers just have to click and play, right away. As is, there are quite a few.

Have you tried karaoke? Smile The small number of teachers I've workshopped with and have used it, just are crazy about it. The cool thing about the karaoke also (and also the books in karaoke) is that the students can practice at home, play at home. This helps and motivates. Also, you can use for assemblies, performances, concerts etc.... Just need a ghetto blaster and a mic (with a little adaptor that plugs in the back). Also, having a mic in your class helps the kids at the back so much. You'd be surprised how they can't hear properly and just turn off in some ways, because....

As I've said before. If you desperately need a karaoke made - just send me the name. Or read the instructions in the file and try to make your own.......

Now back to scanning some more docs....Smile I'm on holiday for a good while but coming into the office a bit.

Oh yeah --

Superfly, hope this worked out and glad to see you getting out there and running free.....if anyone has running questions, try the running club I helped start last year www.seoulflyers.com or the bulletin board www.seoulflyers.com/bb

Sorry for the long post.

I've posted some more very teacher friendly materials in the Adobe Acrobat file, on my site. Partner, communicative exercises. Also Communication Games of Jill Hadfield. These are good not only as games but to print out the pictures, cut up and keep in plastic zip loc bags for use at generating conversation. Ex. Pic up a card. "When did you last...." I last......3 days ago. Then other students must ask 3 additional questions about this. Same thing with usually, going to etc....
The pics generate a lot of conversation.

I'll be downloading some new completed and ready to use games shortly also, as well as some teacher's guides for the above materials. Enjoy.
