I have many movies saved on my hard drive. They are under My Documents -> Movies. Every time I open the Movies folder, an error pops up. It's in Korean. If I close the error box, the computer hiccups and then continues. Any ideas why this might be happening? It's really strange. Thanks guys

Ok, in the top blue part, it says:

데이터 실행 방지 알림

In the error box, it says:

사용자의 컴퓨터를 안전하게 보호하기 위해 다음 프로그램을 종료했습니다

이름: Windows Explorer
게시자: Microsoft Corporation

Hi Zappa,

From what I get of it is:

데이터 실행 방지 알림 = Warning, the data has been "disturbed"

사용자의 컴퓨터를 안전하게 보호하기 위해 다음 프로그램을 종료했습니다 = To protect you, we have shut down the program.

Maybe a virus of some sort? Maybe the program you are using to control the video is messed up (possibly uninstall and reinstall it)? Maybe the files you are downloading are corrupted?

I hope this helps. Crying or Very sad

Yea, I understand the Korean message, I just don't know how to fix it. it has been like this for a long time. I run a couple of virus programs, so I don't think it's that. I don't think it's the program I use (WMP, DIVX), because it happens before I even get to the stage of opening it up. It happens right when I open the folder. And, I can still watch the movie after that, I just move the error box to the bottom of the screen. If I click on the error box, another message comes up, something about explorer.exe. When I click on this, the computer kinda hiccups, and is back to normal again until I open the movie folder again. Aju strangee! Any thoughts gurus?

Could you maybe just have too much stuff saved in that particular file?

I had a similar problem with my computer and it turned out that I had too much stuff saved on my C Drive and I have to delete some stuff?

Maybe have a bit of a spring clean and see what happens?

I have a lot of movies in there, but not too many, I don't think. Is there a limit on the size that a folder can hold? I save new stuff there all the time too, so it's letting me add new stuff in there.

could it be a problem with your hard drive, a corrupted sector or something, have you tried scanning the harddrive or even just defrag? that or try moving all the files into another hardrive or folder.

rename the folder and see if you get an error. I bet you can't rename the folder as well as opening it. You could have some sort of program protecting the folder (encryption), to make sure no one can see what you have downloaded, without putting in the correct password. If that is the case....uninstall the program.
---I had a similar problem with this type of software.

One of your files in that folder is corrupted. The only way to resolve this issue is too delete the folder or move each file into another folder until you can track down which file is corrupted and delete it.

Well, I just deleted all the movies I had on there. No more problems. Definitely had a corrupt file. It's exciting, starting from scratch again.
