Can you leave an E2 mid-contract for a non-E2 company job?
Still need a letter of release? |

A large Korean chaebol recently took resumes for several English-speaking positions, and I applied, just for the heck of it. I don't expect a single thing, but they did ask what type of Visa you have. |

"Can you leave an E2 mid-contract for a non-E2 company job? "
Yes you can, but what type of visa?
What kind of position?
If youre looking to get an E-5, for example, good luck. The justifications for an E-5 type are very, very difficult to get. Based on experience, skills or special talents in a particular field. Many here on this board have ask about non-teaching positions, but the catcher is getting the visa.
Many of the large multinationals (chaebols too) have in house teaching and/ or training programs in English.
"Still need a letter of release?"
Yes, you will be changing your visa status.
Hope this helps and Good Luck!! |

I have no idea what type of visa, actually.
Jobs are not teaching -- they are in a number of areas, including sales, advertising, lower management, etc. |
