I want to record my songs but I have no idea where to start. I've been searching with google but haven't found much yet. I'm not looking for amazing studio quality because I like somewhat lo-fi sound. I was thinking about picking up a digital 4 track or something but I have no idea. A digital 4 track, condenser mic? How does one go about running it through the computer?
I really know nothing. |

Hi Crazy
For recording on your PC you need to boost the signal strenth of the mic. Condensor mics have batteries in them, eh. I think they boost the signal. Also, you could use a dynamic mic like Shure through a pre-amp mixer. They are about 120.000 won online. I bought a Behringer UB802 but I heard they are a bit crappy.
There are some really good websites about home recording:
homerecording.com/bbs/
is a good place to start.
There are also some freeware multi track recorders, too. So no need to lay out heaps of dough to get started. |
