im sure that big budget hollywood sleeze reels like Independence Day and Terminator 3 appear in theatres in korea.
what about lesser known or independent western movies? im thinking here of recent flicks like the british movie 28 Days Later, Mighty Wind, Winged Migration, or not so recent movies like Baraka or Bowling for Columbine? |

Well, those movies are definitely available. I recall seeing bootleg copies of 28 Days Later selling at Yongsan Electonics Market shortly after it's US release. I think small movies do play in some theatres here, but it seems very arbitrary.
The Hours played on a big screen at one of the major theatres in the city where I lived last year, but both Spiderman and Goldmember played at small out of the way theatres which were basically unadvertised and hard to find. Who knows? |
