Any thought on the relative merits of these courses? Obviously the CELTA is geared towards adult learners given the acronym, with the TESOL being a bit more general in terms of age groups.

I know that CELTA has the Cambridge tag which might look nice but given that I am unlikely to be working with adults in the future would I be better advised to take the Trinity course.

I appreciate that its just a beggining and taking either one hardly sets the tone for the rest of my career just looking for some thoughts from those with a bit more experience than myself.

Given that both are fairly similarly priced and can be done in the same locations is it just a case of looking at who I will be teaching after certification or is the CELTA really that bit better?

those two are ON PAR

head and shoulders above all other
certificate programs in terms of reputation

(not necessarily quality, as there are some lesser known university certificates considered first rate)

I got the CELTA and was glad I did. Even the trainers stated that Trinity is just as good.

The Trinity TESOL is not more general in terms of which age group it applies to. It is like the CELTA geared towards working with teenagers and adults.
