I've seen some old posts on this but nothing of substance...
Anyway, I'm thinking of getting it done. Yes, here in Korea. Has anyone had it done recently, which Dr.? where? price? satisfied? etc... |

Can anyone post any LASIK updates?
It seems 2.3 million was the going rate for Wavefront(custom) LASIK. Had it gone down? Any doctors you'd recommend? |

Hey there..
I got my LASIK surgery done in Gangnam over one year ago...
I must say it was and still is an overwhelming success for me.. (Korean billboards appear a lot brighter now and I can see acrosse the street with ease) My eyesight before the surgery was around -1.6 in both eyes- short sighted.. and also I had astigmatism...
After the surgery my astigmatism was cured and my eyesight was and is still better than 20/20. I had little or no side effects.. For a few hours after the surgery my eyes were a little sore and teary.....but they were the only side effects I had.
The cost was 2,000,000 Won....Really great value I believe..
I get squemish with anything concerning eyes...(couldn't even get contacts on) but it was something I had been thinking about for some time.
I got some information on clinics in Korea.. and this is the one I chose..
By the way..many famous stars in Korea like..Boa and Kim Tae Hee..had their LASIK surgeries done here.. The list is on the webiste below.
The clinic gives you a free consultation....so you can find out how suitable your eyes are for the surgery and which type of surgery you should take exactly..You dont have to go ahead with the surgery after the consultation, but you probably will want to.
All follow up eye checks are free..... 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months...1 year etc...
In my last visit they said...if ever my eyes do deteriorate ( though its very unlikely)...they can fix them again....as I was curious to know.. but as I said above...my eyes have not deteriorated at all..
Eyesight better than -3 is very easy to correct they said..
The clinic where I got it done in can be found here....3 locations..... in Seoul www.hellolasik.co.kr There is an English website too..
The branch I got mine done was in Gangnam...outisde Exit 7...right there in the first building on the right...12th floor or something...
I recommend highly...
Hello LASIK

| I also had it done here just over a year ago. If I had known the results would be this could I would have paid double. I went to a place in Yeonseh clinic in Shinchon (near Hongdae). It was 1,800,000. |

I did. The first thread was over 2 years old, and the 2nd one is over a year old.
It seems LASIK goes through rapid changes. There's new techniques and lasers being introduced all the time. Plus 1 year could do a lot to change the prices of the surgery.
I was looking for a recent update. Maybe if someone has had the procedure or did a lot of research into it during the last 3-4 months. |

Well a year ago is not that long..
If you checked the website which gives lots of latest info on all the types of work they do there....then you could find out if it is suitable enough for u..
Also...1 year extra....The one thing you can be sure of is that the procedure would be somehow safer now than then.. It was extremely safe a year ago....and Im sure its the same now or perhaps even safer.
The Dream Eye Centre where I got mine done had all the latest equipment.. and dont forget that the consultation is free!! Its worth a visit anyway...so you can be sure..if you are right for the surgery..
http://hellolasik.com/ Website of the clinic...I got mine done at. It is very reputable with the latest techinques and equipment. At 2,000,000 (even if it is more or less now....still very definitely worth it...)
What you waiting for!! |
