If you are looking for an excellent point and shoot digital camera, I would personally go for a Lumix DMV-LX2K or DMV-LX2S. They come standard with Leica lenses (very nice!), 10.1 Megapixel, 12x Optical Zoom, MEGA Optical Image Stabilization and Manual Focus & Zoom Rings.
I have a RICOH Caplio R4 and I LOVE it. Though, when I bought my R4, the Lumix LX2 wasn't yet out and I would have bought it instead if it was.
I guess in the end, it all depends on what options you want, what sort of lense you are looking for and with what sort of range, the size, and the price that you are willing to pay. If I were you, I would do some research and then post back later with some basic ideas about what you are looking for and some possible models that you are considering. |

| Okay, I'm sold, been reading reviews and have decided upon the Lumix LX2. Can someone help me understand the K-sites from Youngson? The camera is priced anywhere from 355,000 to around 600,000. I know the higher priced ones are w/ a lot of accessories and such but I only want the camera w/ some sort of guarantee. I can buy a sd card and usb sock on the side myself. Anyone read Korean..can you do me a big fav and find me the lowest price so I have a benchmark to go by when I hit the camera-mart at Youngson? |

From the sites that I found through danawa.com, it seems like you should be paying around 360,000 won for just the camera.
Though, If I were you I would try to buy at least a 1gb memory card for it (2gb is better though), at least one extra battery, a case (if it's not included in the box), and an anti-scratch film for the viewing screen. A cleaning kit, if you don't have one, is also very handy; everytime I pass my camera to a Korean, they press their fingers into my lense, so I have gotten very good use out of kit here. In all my years at home, I only used a cleaning kit once!
You lucky barstud! I wish I could have an LX2! |

I own an LX1....amazing damn camera. I love it love it love it!~~
It's so nice to have full manual settings on a point and shoot digi camera. I also think the 16:9 wide screen mode is rad!
The LX2 is supposed to be superb.
You're seeing price difference because some of the models are grey market items. They are the imported Japanese model, not the Korean model. You can save a lot of money on this because they get shipped in under the table, sans duties/tarrifs (from what I understand).
My LX1 is a Japanese model. I priced it on danawa and then bought it over at the electronic complex down on the main street. I got the danawa price with a high speed 1 gig card and case thrown in. |

| I would think that the Nip model would be better. I would like some sort of guarantee, though. Guess I have to shop carefully as I don't want to end up w/ one w/ a plastic case or any inner plastic parts. Sure wish I were back in the US to make this purchase but I really can't be bothered w/ having my sis or parents buy it for me and then have to ship it over here...too much time and hassle. Thanks for the above responses and feel free to make more if you have any! |
