moving to ulsan in a couple weeks and I was wondering if there are any bars where I can watch all the US football games next season? I would even go to another town if necessary. if not, is there an option with satellite or cable to watch every 49ers game? I am an 49er fanatic and would easily wake up early to watch every 49er game. |

Koreans say that American Football is just Rugby Union for softlads!
Wait, no, that was me!
I'm sure that you will be able to find your 49ers fix. But then again they may only show the decent teams. |

I thought the Super Bowl was the league championship and there are no more games this year. |

You can catch a few random games on AFN. You can get more games if you download TVU player and watch them on your computer.
I think the NFL has some exhorbitant fee you can pay to watch the games over the net.
My suggestion would be to have someone buy a slingbox back home, and sling the games to you over an internet connection. |

Well, at least Alex Smith doesn't look like a total bust.
TVU is an option. www.viidoo.com, I think is the address. It used to be great, with tons of American channels. However, in the fall they ditched ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and a bunch of other channels. Still gets CBS and Fox, though, last I checked. I always got the west coast feeds, which---unfortunately for me---that meant lots of Raiders, 49ers, and Arizona Cardinals.
If you search for viidoo or TVU on Dave's, some people recommended another site for free TV watching, although the name escapes me now. |

I am right there with you. I just moved to Korea last month and your concerns were also my concerns, especially moving here right before the playoffs!! I am a huge Dolphins fan. I also am a huge college football fan. My only concern or reservation about moving to Korea was being able to watch football. So, let me tell you what I know. I was able to watch the playoffs on the TVU player on my computer and the Super Bowl was on two different channels here, live. The Pro Bowl was also on last weekend. I also saw on Yahoo that you can order all of the games for the whole season to watch on the internet, a service that is NOT available in the US : http://sports.yahoo.com/nflgamepass. So I think next season, no matter how much it costs, I will be purchasing this package. The only problem is that the games will all be on Monday morning here. The niners play a 1 pm home game, which would be on at 6 am Monday, not too bad unless you work in the morning. I work at 2pm everyday, so I will be able to watch all the games. I am not sure how I will be getting college football, but I think I will be able to somehow get the games. Anyway, one football fanatic to another, you will be fine. You will get the games either on the internet or tv. So are you from the bay area? I am from San Diego. I do root for the Chargers since they are a home town team, but my heart will always belong to the Dolphins. Anway, you should be fine. |

do yuo follow the draft and scouting combine also?
Last year I found feeds for each day for the combine online..wierdly interesting stuff. A good website for draft coverage is
http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/
Has good scouting reports and such.
My favorite website for NFL coverage in general is
www.footballoutsiders.com
It normally does round ups in each division at this time of year, detailing what needs they have and any news. I like their intelligent and witty thoughts on football. |

Wow, that Yahoo gamepass is $250 for the season, or $25 for a week. |

Truthfully, it's pretty hard to watch any games while living in Korea. AFN Prime no longer carries ANY games. TVU is ok, but there is no way of really knowing for sure what games will be shown. Sometimes MBC sports shows a game, but all the commenting is in Korean.
Also with the time difference the games are on at 3 or 4am Monday morning. So you'd better not have a job that starts early.
It's basically impossible to watch games in Korea. Don't get your hopes up. |

I didn't know the NFL pass was $250 on Yahoo, but I think it would be well worth it. As far as waking up early to watch, that is also well worth it. I don't think I could go a whole NFL season without being able to watch every weekend. This is the sad reality of a footblal fan. The passion consumes you and you will do just about anything to feed that passion. Go Dolphins! |

Living in Korea is a good way to get over this pointless addiction. Almost. I thought I had, then... aigooo...
Ah, btw, the gamepass plan allows you to watch any time within 24 hours of the game, so scheduling's not an issue. |

The good thing about MBC is they don't show as many commercials as AFN so you get to see a lot more stuff...cheerleaders' stuff, that is. |

Yeah, but the usually the MBC games are at least a week old.
You are able to watch SNF and MNF easily. And we watch a lot of night college games on TVU. But yeah, with schedule, the NFL is dificult to watch. |
