It this about me?

I don't care what his "bias" is. Truth be told, I actually met the guy a few times during my semester in Quebec. If you want to paint him as some puppet of Exxon, well, it isn't going to work.

The scientists he references aren't the beginning to end of the dissenters. They are a sample. It isn't my job to hold your hand while your dance around the internet looking for more. There are very, very many. Take a look.

I'm hardly being dogmatic. Every single poster has made this about me, and only you have (slightly) referenced the articles posted. If you people just want to hear the same thing all the time go post at rabble.ca.

Then why does it seem like your mind is made up on the matter?

It isn't. At all. And I'm the only one.

In the final analysis we have to bet on the consensus agreement of scientists. When different scientists from different fields all seem to get together and realize a consensus, where is the safe bet? The 12 guys and a newspaper article that argues differently?

There is not a consensus. What has happened is that those who believe in this religions shout down those who dissent by calling them names and questioning their motives.

Ummm... seems to me there was that UN conference in Paris and a consensus was reached among scientists from different fields using multiple lines of evidence. Depends on how you define consensus. I'd pretty much call the Paris conference consensus.

I guess there is name calling. Name calling goes on on both sides. Those who believe in global warming are labelled enviro-fascists. Those who doubt it are called tools of government and business. Calling it religion sounds a lot like the arguments of Creationists who attempt to define evolution as religion. Anyway, you complain about name calling but then use a label like "religion" for scientific findings.

(How much longer before BJWD enters the giant blue baby phase of the debate?)

I personally agree we should approach a complex system like the world's climate with a high degree of skepticism regarding definitive statements. And you will notice the Paris conference did say 90% likely. There are error bars. But at some point, the safe bet tilts towards one side or the other. I think we've reached that point.

You are behaving like a religious nut.

Talking to yourself again?

Maybe 10 years ago you were in the majority. Not anymore sonny.

You're looking like the religious nut all of a sudden.

Global warming deniers have all the qualities of a dangerous cult. A persistent denial of facts despite massive evidence. A psychopathic head-in-the-sand urge.

And for the drop between the 1950s and 1980s, despite increased car usage and increasing populations during this period?

Nowhereman, do you ever offer anything?

Religious resonse

This isn't about me. Why do you lefties keep trying to make it so?

This isn't about me, either.

This is amazing! Not one piece of any kind of evidence has been posted to contradict the OP.

Isn't the OP trying to contradict the evidence of the UN group?

Quote:
Tell you what, nowhereman, you gather a good argument to the OP and post it.

Do read the whole thing. But since you like to flog the graph, I thought I'd let this bit "slam at you".

Quote:
So what of those graphs? Look at them carefully and you see that they are measuring two different things: global temperatures (the UN panel's progression) and European temperatures (Monckton's line). You will also discover that the scales are different.

If you convince me, then great. But ask yourself, could you be convinced otherwise? Why not?

If I convince you?

Says the one who's already called global warming bull$hit.

But it's not about you, remember? Don't get religious.
