Uh, I stayed home and watched MBC's tasteless 9/11 disaster movie extravaganza.
How prophetic: an asteroid in "Deep Impact" landed on the west coast of America and the first buildings to be toppled by the aftershock wave was the Twin Towers. Plus the Statue of Liberty. Try NOT to think about 9/11. |

Starbucks (reading and people watching), PC room, walking around (eye shopping, people watching), and now PC room again. Would like to go out again tonight, but three nights in a row is too much. |

I slept in, ate some tempura my boss brought over yesterday, and watched the movie 'Independance Day'.
I appreciated having a day of peace and quiet with nothing to do but lounge around the apartment.
Toot a loo,

Had a nice kalbi dinner with the (large) family at the parents in laws place, then talked and watched Lord of the Rings: Two Towers on video (must be a family tradition, we saw the Fellowship of the Ring during Solal) then watched Tears of the Sun. As far as family events goes, it was okay. |

Got ambitious and hauled my a$$ up Gwanak-San. It was a good day for a hike. Most people were at home with their families and we had most of the mountain to ourselves. Good way to spend the day.
Hit HaeHwa in the PM. Lots of bars and cafes were open. Not much for crowds though. Looks like a pretty cool area.......bit of an arts scene happening there believe it or not. Will head back when Korea is back to it's normal self after the holiday.

I went to COEX and saw a movie(packed), checked the Apple Computer store, had lunch, played XBox, went to Itaewon.
At one point I needed money and, suprise, the ATMs were not all closed down. |

chusok: chilled at home until g/friend returned from visiting the family. Then met her and went to Gangnam and tried out a microbrew. The beer was not bad, but the sausages were god-awful.
day after: went up near the DMZ to visit g/friend's brother, who is in the ROK army. He's in the middle of nowhere on a post w/300 soldiers. Sucks to be him. If north korea attacks, he's dead. Went to the observation tower as well, was able to see North Korea. Had lots of kalbi with g/friend's family for lunch, then stuffed ourselves, minus brother, in mok-dong for dinner. Overall, pretty nice fday. |
