Hi there!
I have been using Expressways for about 2 months now. We are on level 4 as my students are quite good at English.

Pros: They have been speaking A LOT more since I introduced the books- no more bored faces! There are different topics each unit, and there are practical expressions they can use. There are dialogues to practice, then some matching or filling in the blanks in the text, listening and choosing the correct answer, and then the workbook has similar activities. The students like that they can apply the knoweldge in real life situations, instead of some of the stuff they learn in other texts. There are also extension questions for class discussions.

Cons: Some of the terms are a little more difficult, like banking and mortgages, but they do their best in looking up the words in the dictionary and by looking at my garbled drawings/explanations on the board..lol!

Teaching: I usually do a few pages of the text and workbook in class, and then assign some from both for homework...I tend to do the more difficult pages in class, and I read the scripts unstead of using the tapes as they are too fast for some of the students. And at the end of the class I have a class discussion about the topic or I find a worksheet on the internet/make one which is related to the topic.

I hope that helps Smile
