You go to the bank and do an international account-to-account transfer. If you're lucky, the bank clerk will speak a little English. If not, you're in for a tough time!!
Try going to a larger branch which sometimes have a special international counter at the end of all the normal clerks. Oh, and you don't have to take a number and wait in line. You're a foreigner. Looking stupid and walking right up to the counter works everytime!!
Bring your passport and korean ARC if you have it. |

You need to call the Halifax and get the swift number so you can make an international transfer to your account.

The cheapest way of doing it is online, the bank should only charge a maximum of W5,000. However at KB I couldn't send to a bank account with the same name, so sent to my Mothers account.
International transfers online was in Korean only so get a local to help you. |

Actually the IBAN number is the most important, make sure you get this. |

| You can find the IBAN (International Banking) number at the bottom of your Halifax (or NatWest etc) bank statement - it's quite long and includes your domestic account number, the bank's sort code, and should start with GBR. I've never managed an online transfer with KB but go in and get them to cable money each month - the first time took a while but I kept the paperwork, and now they just copy the paperwork from the previous month each time - takes about 10 minutes and doesn't cost much. |

Not if he/she only has an online bank account, then an IBAN will need to be generated by Halifax specifically.
btw, last timed i sent money home via KB i saved around 20- by doing it online... |
