WOW! that team is now stacked!
It doesn't matter though...his condition won't make it to the finals when his new team faces my SENS!

I just nabbed Forsberg in my fantasy pool...hopefully he goes on a tear, which he very well could. This team should be fun to watch. |

Great deal for Philly--1st rounder in a deep draft, Upshall adds depth, Parent's gonna be a stud and a 3rd thrown in...I think Philly has a better chance of re-signing Forsberg than Nashville does... |

Do you really think Philly will re-sign Forsberg? I think that the Flyers will take next year off and rebuild. If they have a shot at the playoffs they will go out and buy a player or two, but i think next year is a rebuilding year.
Hey Newbie, you like the Sens...question for you, which is better, a Sens win or a Leafs loss?
I personally only watch Leafs highlights when they lose...makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

(can't tell if you're reacting to my saracasm with your own sarcasm, or if you couldn't tell that I was mocking the Sens)
SO, sorry man, my laughing was me laughing at the notion of the Sens actually going somewhere in the playoffs. I'm a Leafs fan.
Honeslty though, I actually don't mind the Sens so much anymore. No Hossa, no Bonk, no Hasek, no more delusions of "this year we can beat the Leafs". If Leafs don't make the playoffs I'd probably be cheering for the Sens. |

Newb, brother, i will give you this, Bonk was a bum. But Hossa and Hasek are great hockey players who i still cheer for to this day. Last year, we had no delusions of beating the Leaks....cause we did, 7/8 times to be exact. And if Toronto went .500 against Ottawa, you may have got invited to the big dance.
But that was last year and it is neither here nor there...though i do have a gripe with you and what other people such as you do come playoff time... Cheer for the other team...even your rival team! Maybe its because Ottawa is 0-4 against the Leafs in post season, maybe its because for years Toronto was one of the teams hurting the NHL with the salary explosions, maybe because the average joe cant get a ticket to a Leafs game...but i know this much, i do not, will not, NEVER cheer for the Leafs, under any circumstances whatsoever!
I was fortunate enough to go to game 7 in 2002, Ottawa at Toronto. (good buddy is friends with Fisher and Chara and we got hooked up with tickets the day before the game, happy as pig in sheet i was!). Well Toronto won the game and the series. I walked out with my head held down, and Leafs fans either saying "good series" with a hand shake, or "your a loser" with a finger in my face...anyhow, while walking out of that god awful building, The ACC, a guy comes up to me and throws a mic in my face "CBC Radio Toronto, now that Ottawa has lost and the Leafs are the remaining Canadian team vying for the Stanley Cup, will you cheer for Toronto!?" and with all my rage, and might I grabbed that mic and yelled at him "AND CHANGE MY FREAKING COLORS!?? GO TO HELL!!"
Point being Newbie, I would rather see a guy like Paul Karyia, Yzerman, Iginla, Sakic, Thorton, or any other good ole Canadian boy win the Cup than the Toronto Maple Leafs. After my team loses, the playoffs are not done, but they might as well be. I cheer for a Canadian kid to win it and take it home over the summer to show his boys so they can get pissed drunk out of it!
Newbie, never change your colors brother, never change your colors!

The thing is: back when we were ALWAYS beating Ottawa, we never felt it was much of a rivalry. Ottawa folk always got all excited, radio stations going on about "this year gonna be the year...Domi sucks etc.", but for us, it just wasn't that exciting. It was a given that we would beat you. Our focus was always "ok, who are we gonna play AFTER ottawa." SO, because we kinda pitied you guys all along, I have no problem cheering for the Sens when Leafs aren't around. You were always like our poor little cousin who was having money problems and always
Now, this year, if we happen to make the playoffs, a series with the Sens would be nice, cuz we aren't so great anymore and our victory won't be a guarantee as it was in other years. Yes, even the year when you finished first in the conference and we "upset" you.
Yes, Hasek is a good player. But also a complete dick. I hate that guy. Hossa, just a big pusshy.
(I caught a playoff game in Ottawa once. Must have been 2002. Game 4 or 5 I think. Ottawa went up something like 3-0 or 2-0. All the Sens fans laughing in my face... by the end of the game Leafs came back to win. Nice) |

What kind of weak-ass pool has Forsberg on waivers? Who are you playing against blind amputees? |
