March and April are going to be an interesting time for the Korean music scene.

On March 30 and 31, the New York ska/reggae band the Slackers is playing two shows in Seoul. They're a band you don't want to miss if you like ska, rocksteady, or reggae.

On Tuesday, April 10, NoFX is playing in Rolling Hall in Hongdae. They're not quite my thing, but I'm sure they have a lot of fans on here.

Wow! I am very excited!!! How do we find out about ticket sales? I wouldn't want the shows to sell out especially since it looks like they will be in small venues.

The Slackers is playing two shows in the same neighbourhood, and neither venue typically sells out, so I doubt anybody will be turned away at the door. There will probably not be ticket sales.

NoFX is playing on a Tuesday, so who are we kidding? On a weekend they'd fill the place, but I doubt it can happen on a Tuesday. I bet they'll have advanced tickets though.

I cannot express how pumped I am that The Slackers are coming to Seoul!!! Its almost unbelievable really. People, The Slackers are maybe the top NYC ska/reggae band. With dabblings in dub. Its not easy for a ska band to break the mold and come up with fresh ideas but this band certainly pulls it off.

Go to www.theslackers.com to hear some samples.

As for NoFX... Not really my thing per se, but I'll be there too I imagine. Very Happy

Top NYC band? For sure. Very likely even the top band in the US. I interviewed Dave Hillyard a few weeks ago and they're excited about coming here.

I will go to NOFX just for the nostalgia value alone. Thanks for the heads up .. I will have to take a day off and this gives me plenty of time to think of a good reason (or make one).

Could someone give me directions to Rolling Hall? I'm normally in the dance scene, but for NOFX, I have to go.. to remind me of my roots!

I haven't exactly posted the interview online, but you can download the zine here:
http://www.daehanmindecline.com/broke/broke3.pdf

For the first show, Suck Stuff and Kingston Rudie Ska are opening. For the second show, Rux and Ska Sucks are opening.
