| My management has no clue, there was a gap between my last visa and this one, on the immi website it looks like I should be able to get my old ARC back (useful for getting my own phone, check card etc...) anyone know about this? |

Who has it? If you surrendered it to immigration when you left or got a NEW visa instead of an extension (between contracts) then you will have to get a new ARC. You will get the same number.
You have to do this within the first 90 days back in Korea. |

Not always. I've had 5 visas, but 4 ARC numbers. I only got the same number when I told them to geive me the same number. For this current job, I told them again, but something obviously got mixed up in the translation... I got a new number anyway. It is a PITA when it comes to pension; each ARC number has different pension info... NONE of it is consolidated into one place. |

6 years, 4 visas, 2 different passports, 2 different immigration offices and I have always had the same number. |

| My number changed when I changed jobs 2 years ago, despite the fact that there was no time gap between contracts. It wasn't a big problem for me, although my bank was a bit confused about why my number changed. |

So what about if one dissapeared and returned after four years and possibly still had an ARC card that one thought one had lost?
Would one still get the same number or would ones number most likely change?
Will one get a good rodgering from immigration for not returning the card in the first place? |

11 years, 5 visas, 3 different passports, 4 different immigration offices, and almost always a differnt ARC number.
Even when I told them (this time) to use the same number as the last 2 job, they still gave me a different one. As I said, it's a pain in the ass because pension info is not consolidated in one place now. |

| Is there a way to find out an old ARC number from a previous job? (I didn't keep very good records). |
