People like the OP who consistantly highlight one side, as if the exact same thing is not happening on the other side are sick and actually a significant part of the problem ... |

Folks on the board, have you ever been in an area where christians were a minority to Muslims?
I haven't, and I don't know anyone who has. i feel like they would be helpful in settling the question of the above quote. |

The is not because of what satori said; it's because I hadn't expected him to say it. |

I've said this before: Racism is too restrictive (and inaccurate) a term. It seems to me that 'bigotry' is the correct word for the issue the OP is addressing. I don't know why, but it doesn't carry the same emotional baggage that racism does, but it should.
And yes, I think 'Islamofascism' is a publically accepted form of bigotry. In many circles, it seems perfectly OK to bash Moslems of whatever stripe or level of involvement. Another form of bigotry that is socially acceptable in many groups is anti-Americanism and goes unquestioned and unchallenged. |

Yes. Several other people on this board have spent time in Muslim countries as well. |

Yes actually, I think bigotry is a better term. I used the term racism as it was used in the article.

Chritians living in Muslim countries are not very content. See Lebanon, Bosnia, Albania / Kosovo, the Russians in Chechnya.
None, zero want to live in a Mulim ruled country. |

Racism? Ummm ... defintely not.
Islam is a religon, race stands as an entirely separate more abstract concept.
As with most of the world's major religions, Muslims are found within the ranks of all "races".
Still, the freedom loving world, those who value peaceful co-existence & personal choice have good reason to be alarmed by such hate-filled ideologies as radical Islam, Zionism, political correctness and the like. |

Oh dear oh dear, you show a distinct extremist tendency when you lump political correctness in with radical Islam and Zionism as a hate-filled ideology. To me that smacks of hysteria.
I too am largely anti political correctness in it's current manifestation. However I feel the basic impulse behind it is positive and needed to happen. It's about inclusive non judgemental language, and that's a good thing. It's simply been taken too far, and in fact high jacked by leftists in the service of something that it initially set out to negate, that is the implicit forwarding of one agenda over another embedded in linguistic constructs... |

| Generally you are not. Usually you are indocrinated into your religion from birth. Whole ethnic groups often share the same religion, it's bound up in their ethnicity. |
wow you didn't even take the time to qualify that one...Now because my parents are christian fundies I can bash gays because I was born into the religion of fundie christianity...great....
Sorry, despite these factors Religion still remains a choice..You don't have to follow it...You can opt to leave...you can become an atheist...oh wait...that wonderful religion of the prophet has problems with you leaving or becoming a polytheist or atheist.....If I want to convert to Christianity I'll have to be put to death according to the sharia....BB grow up you are a hypocrite..You go on and on about breaking down the term anti-semtism but Islamophobia is fine and dandy no strings attatched...You tool!!

| There are several people on this board who have spent time in Muslim countires, but I would argue that this is QUITE different than living as a Christian Minority in a Muslim country...I've met a couple of teachers who have nothing but good things to say about their teaching and living experiences in the Middle East. Curiously though their stories don't sound a damn thing like many of the Coptic horror stories coming out of Egypt.... |

What? The connection between Islamism and fascism is well-documented. |
