Yes, the roads will be chaos. The buses tend to avoid the worst traffic, but they still occassionally get caught up in it. It might be better to take the train to Incheon and then bus it from there. |

Thanks for the advice. If I were to do that, which subway stop would be the best to stop at, and roughly how long would it take to the airport? |

The road to the airprort will be fine.
There is no train between Seoul and the new airport yet: the first section, Incheon to Gimpo is expected to open next year. |

| The total travel time from Gimpo to Incheon will be 33 minutes for standard trains and 28 minutes for express trains, a little shorter than the 35 to 45 minutes it takes by airport limousine bus. |
IS it really that much faster than the limo buses?
Doesn't seems so.
How much will it cost? Will it be standard subware fare based on distance? |

| The fare for standard trains will start from W1,000 for the basic route and add W80 every kilometer, costing around W3,100 for the entire route. The express train fare will be set at around W7,900 |
You save five minutes with the express train and it costs W4,800 more.

If you want to know how bad traffic is at any time and your Korean skills are passable look at this site
www.freeway.co.kr and go to the Roadplus link(2nd on the left)..
It shows graphically how fast every expressway is going in each section in real time...
At the moment it is super clogged around daegu and the back of changwon/masan but other than that it isn't too bad really.... |
