Lightning quick. Stay away from the hogwans and hit the universities. Since you have Masters in Education, you will have no problem getting with one of the universities in Korea. |

A job? No problem.
A GOOD job, well, that'll take a little longer. |

It will take a bit longer since you are going to stay only 6 months. You ARE going to tell them up front, aren't you? |

Not sure what country you are in, but why would you travel all the way to korea for a 6 month job? Airfare is pretty expensive. |

so i wouldn't be able to get a job easily because i'm only going to stay for six months?
i'm from the u.s. i just wanted to get to know korea better and make some money while i see some family. so the money for airfare isn't such a big deal. |

For 6 months, I'd go the hagwon route. Tell them up front. Doesn't sound like it's much to sweat for you, so don't worry too much about the school, but check out here and on the net just to assure they won't be cheating bastards.
Hagwons probably won't sweat the 6 month thingy. Just gives 'em more time to find someone else, really. If you don't care about airfare then they'll swoop you up in a minute. Don't work for pennies if you have a masters though. Or whatever grabs you. |

Why would someone want to hire a teacher for only 6 months? The school has to turn right around and hire someone again. And for that short of time you have almost zero commitment to the school or students, so no quality can be expected of you. Changing teachers in the middle of a school year is a drag on everyone.
Just a coule of reasons it might be difficult, then again some crap hagwon probably just had a teacher do a midnight run and you could fill the vacant shoes for awhile.
Good luck, I guess. |
