Anyone else been able to register for Ebay from Korea? I've been trying for a week now and it doesn't seem to process when I register. It just gives me an error message and tells me to try later. I tried registering a dummy account in the US, and it went through fine. Are we not allowed to register for Ebay here?

I did it in '99 (so can't help for recent changes to their registration pages). And I've switched main addresses around several times since then, but in the beginning (and now) my home address was/is Korea. No problems.

Yep, I sacrificed having eBay (excellent shopping) to come to Korea. Knowing that alot of things in Asia are just going to give you an error message or decline service due to lack of compatabilities between American stuff and non-American stuff. It's all highly experimental still vs. if you were in western Europe, it's all established time tested usable country systems of convenience, but that scene is best left for the rich old folks to play in. (I.e. Paris) Heck, it took 2 1/2 weeks for an airmail letter to reach the USA from Korea while it takes 2 days from Europe!!!

The Atlantic isn't all that big compared to the Pacific, or entire continental mass of Europe and Asia, plus Atlantic.

Two and half weeks sounds quite a while, but you're comparing two very different situations. There's a lot of planes hopping the pond now days. Nowhere near the amount coming from your particular part of Korea.
