Yesterday I stayed at pretty good place.
It's run by a Japanese woman and some of her staff are also Japanese.
The place has a tour-ticket counter, bar and free wireless internet for guests. They are well-kept, clean rooms and in the central area of Patong. Within walking distance of all the action.
Good place to practice your Japanese too. While it is mixed, there must be about 70% Japanese. Mostly young, 20 something Japanese staying there.
It's called Phuket Happy Tour.
