That was an attempt to make a deductive logical argument, I think.
There is no necessary relationship between those 3000 dead soldiers and any of the events he listed.
If being factually correct makes me a pompous ass, then give me foreign film and a turtleneck.

You should go and tell my logic professors that. And if you read my post again you'll see I referred to it as an axiom.
