All this crap going on in my life right now, I feel so completely overwhelmed by it all.
It's difficult at times to not want to just sleep all the time....or learn how to hunt and live off the land in timbuktoo or some place where you don't have to deal with people.
I am in a funky funk.
can you say something to help me out? |

Teaching English in Korea is a crock.
While the economics are good, the students compliant, the pace is laid back, and there are tonnes of opportunities, it is still a big fat load. In general, Koreans, while they spend massive amounts of time and energy on learning English, do not give a rats ass about communicating with foriegners on an equal footing. They learn English because they are told they have to by Korean employers, not because they intrinsically want or need to. To put it in market terms, the demand for English is completely out of step with the need for English. This has created a massive false economy. One where students, teachers, and administrators lurch through the motions in order to keep up the guise of psuedo proffesionalism. So while life in Korea is comfortable and secure, it is a waste of your time and energy.
Immigration is doing you a favour by kicking your ass to the curb. While your landing might not be as soft as if you had planned it, getting out NOW is better for you in the long run. You will suffer a shorter withdrawal period and have greater opportunities to do meaningful things with your life.
This is not a setback. It is not a problem. It is an opportunity. |

Not knowing the background, there are drugs. ie. Xanax, Zoloft, etc.
Then there's the ubiquitous soju.
EDIT: Since I recommended these, I should add don't take the medicine with the soju.
Either/Or.

Thanks for that. i'm involved with babopalooza.
For those of you who noticed (in wrench's "i suck" thread), I have a few other things going on.
sweet pete...thanks. That was very good.
It's not anything chemical...it's just everything pounded down upon me. I gotta power through it, it's just hard right now. |

Babopalooza fallout huh? Wow, what a horribly unfunny joke.
I've had some totally undeserved lameness befall me lately too, in an insanely retarded Immigration kind o' way, and I'm getting lots of signs that this should be my last kick at the can here in Korea...I've had some great times, and I'm sure my next destination will have lots of weird stupid stuff about it too, but Korean law seems to be getting stupider all the time, while the money doesn't get that much better.
I don't think I'm the only one to notice this latest trend...just ask the 'Busan 9.' Or the "Yeosu 9,' if you believe in seances. |

If you're getting kicked out by immi try not to sweat it so much. There are a lot of other places rather than Korea. And while it may not have been what you'd have chosen, as soon as you settle in some place Korea will be nothing but a fading memory.
I'm sure you have a lot more options than you can see at the moment. Hang tight! |

keep your head up, deal with the things as best you can , and try to keep your mind off the ones you can't do anything about. Things will get better, might take some time, but they will. |

Big picture man!
What? You were going to stay in korea forver?
By now, i would have contacted every newspaper with a circulation over 100,000 to sell my story.
Don't be a fool. One sucky opportunity out the window, a million more where that came from.
What kind of wretch are you? get your sh&t together and make your life worthwhile to somebody, anybody, even if it's only yourself.
Hope that helps. |

alphabet game...my shrink told me this when I celebrating my 40th birthday by having a nervous breakdown.
Find a word for something you like or enjoy for each letter of the alphabet. It's silly but anything that keeps you from jumping in front of a train or shooting yourself (for another day) is a good thing. God, life can suck sometimes though. |

The problems extend FAR beyond merely the babo fallout. Though thanks for that: I do believe I have seen the light. |
