Please help.
I'm coming in on the KTX today. I'll be going to Yaksu. But my time will be a little bit tight (I've got 40 minutes.)
There's this great direct line, the Joong Ang Seon line, but I can't find it as an option in the online virtual map. It keeps recommending the numbered subway lines which are longer, and I have problems with Line 1 at Yongsan station (usually getting in the right direction.) Is this line (중 앙 선) just a work in progress or does it exist now? The people at 02-1330 were no help either. They said the stations are numbered K112, K113, K126 but they didn't answer my question. I think they were still hungover.
Since I've been to Yongsan station a few times, I've gotten to know the layout a little bit, but I don't remember any signs to this railway line. Is it Korail? |

Looks like you want 4, then 3 (or 6) from Seoul Station. Don't know a helluva lot about the Seoul system, but get the line four train that says "회현/Hoehyeon or 충무로/Chungmuro". Transfer at Chungmuro going to Dongguk Uni. Looks like the shortest route as well. Maybe a Seoulite could be more helpful? From Yongsan? Looks like Jungang Line towards Ichon transferring to Line 3 at Oksu.
Sorry, I found the line...has a few diffeent names, of course. We can now understand the "K" references.

Well they're telling me now that it's a part of line 1 at Yongsan. In other words, I should follow the signs to Line 1, and then look for the Deoksu destination.
I hope it's straightforward. With the color representing a different line, it's a little confusing. I guess I'm just wondering if the rep thought about taking me up to Hoegi or something.
Am I really talking myself into making a third call? -sigh-

edit: Oh wait I just found the cyber map online (http://english.tour2korea.com/01TripPlanner/Transportation/subway_main.asp?kosm=m1_4&konum=4) and when you click Line 1 it shows that the light blue line (leading to Hannam) and the dark blue line are the same line, Line 1. Mystery solved. |

Actually, that line you're talking about doesn't run frequently, maybe every 20 minutes or so. My suggestion if you're pressed for time would be to catch a cab ASAP out of the station to Samgakji (it's very close to Yongsan) and then shoot down line 6 to Yaksu. |
