I am going to buy a digital camera tomorrow.
I recently had a Nikon S5, but my girl friend left it in a taxi. That camera had a nice menu, but the pictures were not that great.
Please give me some suggestions because I don't really know what to look for in a camera. |

If you can deal with the size, and want to spend a little more than 300, I bought a Fuji S6500fd a couple of months ago. "fd" is face detection. Face detection is pretty cool. Look it up online. My explanation would be lame.
It's only 6.3 megs pixels, but it's really how the pixels are used. Awesome camera.
But.....it's big. it's like holding on to a full-on SLR camera. Full size lens, body, everything. I love it.
One of the best things for me is the zoom. You don't push a button, you use a lens ring like an SLR camera. Instant silent zoom.
It has a ton of cool options, and for me, the best camera I have ever had. Well, not me, my wife. It was her birthday present. I got to play with it for two weeks though before I went home.
Consumer stuff... I bought it in Korea.
Store price (LG store) was 499,000 won. I bought a computer a week before, they gave it to me for 400,000. Included were.....1 gig mem card + case. Case is nice. Batteries. Ahh, batteries. It doesn't use special batteries that you can only use with that camera and no other device. Double A!!!! The camera-specific batteries cost a fortune, plus you have to have a charger and stuff. We have rechargeable AA's. VERY convenient. Very cheap. I don't care if other special batteries last one hour or two hundred pics....I just swap out four AA's and I'm good to go. Or, we take them out of one of my sons' toys....but please don't tell him that.
Fuji. Look there. |

You're welcome. I looked at what you lost online, and if you want that, mine isn't right for you. I'm going to buy one of those 'slims' for everyday shots someday, but i want to upgrade my current first. I'm thin i will stay in the Fuji line though.... |

Have a look at a Canon or the new Lumix line from Panasonic. Overall, very good cameras. |

We bought a Panasonic DMC-FX3. My girlfriend had to have it today, but I wish we would have done a little more research. We paid 270K won at Yongsan, and I feel like we got burned after I took a look at the cameras at http://www.enuri.com/view/Listmp3.jsp?cate=0209&menu=true
Anybody have one of these? |

Lumix LX2 or Ricoh R2 are what I would suggest. Canon also has some pretty nifty cameras, though their lenses are nothing to get excited about. |

Let me know what you think of it after a few weeks or so, I will be in the market for a digicam of that caliber/ price range in a couple months... after a paycheck or two. |

I picked this one up about 3.5 years ago, and it works like a charm. They've since updated the model to 5mp (mine's a 4), and I think the design has been discontinued, but I've had no problems with it. |

I'm considering getting a new camera soon, and the new Panasonic DMC-FZ8 looks tempting. I've heard the FZ7 is a pretty decent camera, and the improvements made for this new model suggest it should be a pretty good choice.
It's scheduled to go on sale from March, so does anyone know whether Korea is in or out of the loop concerning new product releases? There doesn't seem to be anything on the Korean version of the Panasonic site with information on when it will be on sale here. |

I don't know the answer to your question, but that looks like a nice camera. |
