Ok, someone help. I forgot how to turn off the floor heat and still have hot water. Down here in Busan, its getting to the point that I don't need the heat on, especially during the day. So, what do i push? (If you are bored at work and want to tell me what everything says, that would be great too!)

Thanks!!

From what I can tell, the top button is the floor and the middle button is the water.

I have the same thing.

Top button is the heat, and the top dial is the thermostat.

Third button down is the hot water, and I believe that the bottom dial is for adjusting the temperature of the boiler.

That's all I have needed to use.

The red button detonates the apartment in case of attack.

For the dials on the left:

실내온도 - room ondol

예약 - timer

난방수온 - the water temperature of your ondol (which means how hot you want your hot water to be, really)

On the right, the buttons:

실내온도 - same as above

취침기능 - put this on when you go to sleep and don't want the ondol on constantly but still want to keep it warm-ish

목욕기능 - for when you want hot water

외출기능 - when you go out

재가(기)동... - not sure what this is.. may be to switch it off completely?

So if you want to switch yout ondol off but want only hot water, press the third button... that should turn the light off of the top dial.

Thanks for everyone's help! I don't know what I would do without Dave's Translation Service!

The problem is the Mokyok button (for hot water) times off after a certain point. Also, if I turn the floor temp dial all hte way to the left (off), we don't get any hot water, even if mokyok is pushed. So, what's the story?

if you turn the dial to the left there's saying "전원꺼짐" which means that power's off so no boiling water either

This is exactly what we have at home, it's super easy!!!

Top switch:

꺼짐 = switch off altogether

켜짐 = switch on

You need to switch it on for the hot water to come... so just leave it on.

Bottom right switch:

난방/온수 = ondol floor and hot water

온수전용 = for hot water only

Bottom left switch:

저온 = low temperature (for water)

고온 = high temperature

This is to save you money: in the summer you use low temp, and in the winter you use high temp. There is a significant difference.

Dial:

난방수온도조절 = temperature control for your ondol floor

외출 = going out (when you go out or at night when you sleep or when you want to keep it a bit warm but not hot, turn it all the way down to this position. It comes on for a few minutes every 30 minutes or so)

1 block of fire - low temp

2 blocks - higher

3 blocks - very high temp

The 55'/60' - 80'... just how warm you want your floor to be.

When I want to warm our home after a day out, I turn it up to 60' for a couple of hours (we have a big flat), then it's back down to 외출 for the rest of the night.

p.s. the lights at the top:

운전 = working

물보충 = add water: you need to do this at the main boiler.. there is a gold switch thingy that you just turn and let it fill up... you will know when it's filled because water starts coming down the clear plastic tube. You don't need to do this too often, may be once every 2/3 months?

연소 = not sure what this is.. I asked but I forgot... anyway when this happens, I just switch the whole unit off (top right switch) for a few minutes and switch back on again, that usually does the trick.

tzechuk,

I'm going to be gone for a week as of tomorrow, should I just shut everything off as I don't envision pipes bursting in these mild temperatures or put it on some special setting?
