| I have been on some busses where the stops are announced in English and Korean. On the 420 from Daechi to Hannam Vocational School, will it say "Hannam Vocational School" in Eng or Kor? |

Just thinking the same thing myself.
Oh, BTW, does anyone know if the Familymart near the Ozone PC bang near exit 7 of Shinheung Station sells Marlboro lights? |

Why not take it and see? What an adventure!! If you get lost you can always ask someone or jump in a taxi.

| I believe they only announce the major stops (ie stops near a subway station) in English. |

| If you are worried about not getting off at the right place, have it written in korean and hand it to the driver. He:ll yell at you when its time to get off. Just stay standing near the front so he doesn:t forget about you. |

| The buses will only announce English at the major stops (eg Subway Stations) that goes for all the buses (blue and green). It's the only time i've ever heard English. If you could read Korean you could count how many stops it is from where you're going by looking at the sign while you're waiting for the bus. |

| I like having the bus driver holler at me, personally. I once asked a bus driver to let me know when we got to a particular stop, and sure enough, as soon as we got there, he yelled "HEY LADY!!!!" down the length of the bus. One of my favorite absurd moments in Korea. |

| Really, one of the prerequisites for taking the bus regularly should be basic Korean reading and listening ability. Not saying this to be a jerk just that you can get totally lost very easily. |

I think its essential to have some basic listening ability in Korean before riding the bus. Even if you can read Korean, the stops are read pretty quickly. Like a few people already mentioned, just ask the driver if you aren't sure and he'll probably help you out.
This is another example why learning Korean sure makes living here a lot easier |

Learning hangul is not difficult, indeed. It sure does make life easier. |
