What does it take in order for a hogwon, public school or whatever fire you... I mean besides from the obvious, not showing up to work, or showing up late....
I mean as far as teaching skills, what would it take? |

It probably depends on the reputation of the school. I'd say if you're awake and there that's enough for a lot of schools.
Do anything like complain to the labour board about money owed though, anything less than absolute perfection could get you fired.
I heard about a guy caught driving drunk twice, constantly late for class, did nothing in class, asked for pay raises and cut in the number of classes, and it made the head teacher seriously consider firing him. |

They just considered to fire him?
Sometimes jobs like that are a good score. |

lol. Sounds like a class act.
I laughed when I read he smoked in class. Also getting busted at the PC bang while calling in sick was funny. |

I thought that must have been one of the guys I replaced, but then I remembered he didn't know how to use a computer. |

I knew a guy who threw photocopied activity sheets at the kids to do, then sat down and read the paper. He did this everyday for about 8 months before doing a runner. |

In my last job, my colleague called in sick from the airport...mid call they started making anouncements. They didn't say anything to him, but its always a bit dodgy when you call in sick either a day before or day after a vacation. |

You know a school 3 years ago that made me an offer for a job said the teacher previous did just that (read the paper in class and ignored the kids). Before I came here, I couldn't believe someone would be so unprofessional as to do something like that. Now, I can understand circumstances when you might do that. Your kids are monsters. They respond to no method of discipline. The school refuses to discipline them or even call their mothers. I could see the only recourse would to simply give them head down games and read the damn paper. Because no one cares. |

Greeting your boss by saying "Heil Hitler" on a consistant basis would do the trick. |
