I thought I would look through my list of who I invited to see how many of the expats that I invited invited were doing. These are the ones that I know for sure are expats from here... and on the "other site"

I don't understand it, but you might upset some people by putting their emails online.

A few lightweights there. Considering they probably have great Korean internet connections.

I've only been on Demonoid about a year. I even had to set my upload limit to 500kbps as I was once uploading on average 3mbps!! My poor HDD was whirring like an angle-grinder!!

Here's my stats as of tonight.

Uploaded: 996.53 GB
Downloaded: 326.40 GB
Ratio: 3.05

My good ratio is down to the fact that I leave my PC on 24/7 to get rare files with very few users so they come in real slow.

I got a private tracker invite twice. Both times, everything I downloaded wouldn't upload. I tried. I left the damned things on 24/7 for 2 weeks, and my ratio was hanging at about .200. I even tried downloading stuff just to seed it for others...didn't work.

The odd thing is that my overall ratio on public trackers is over 2.0. Oh well.

I'm on uni internet, which hooks into all of the houses around here, or by wifi. They seem to block a lot of P2P stuff. Oh well, it's free. Sad

I used to be behind a router which I couldn't get at. It sucked. Getting a good ratio on private trackers was basically impossible.

BTW, a ratio of around 0.2 or 0.3 isn't bad if you're on the kind of private tracker which gives power users (1.0 or more) first priority on newly uploaded files. In this situation, it's really, really hard to build up to 1.0. You miss the leeching frenzy when the file first comes out so by the time you have it few others still want it. Very few people will upload from you if you only have older files.

None of that on Demonoid however. Everyone has instant access to the newest files. If you live in Korea you should be able to upload a lot and get a good ratio.

I am not on that list and I dont know the OP but I was wondering how you guys get a positive ratio on demonoid?

I usually leave the downloaded file to seed for a few hours after I download it but I am still only at 0.8

I downloaded a new movie yesterday with many seeders and leechers and it only took a few hours but its seeding really slow and the ETA for the full upload is 2 days^^

Obviously I cant seed it for that long

Why not? 2 days is about the minimum I would seed a torrent before deleting it. The average would be about a week. I've seeded some torrents for a couple of months!!

300gb hard drives cost less than 100,000 these days.
