Sorry to ask again as I'm sure this has been covered before but I thought I'd make it scientific and run a poll.
I've picked up the rumblings about recession and a weak job market.
I'd be interested in a snapshot of peoples job hunting feedback...
Only comment if you're looking now or have been in the last 6 weeks or so.
Also - a brief rundown of any factors you feel might be affecting your chances. Age, race, sex, nationality, availability, experience, qualifications..... |

2nd half of the above post.
I've applied to one school advert, a stack of agencies and filled out online application forms for some major hakwans. Also e-mailed a couple of branches directly.
Fairly poor response from the agencies and none from the schools but I've got an interview soon in relation to the actual job.
The agencies mostly replied but just a generic response that implied they hadn't read my e-mail.
Impediments
I have very strict criteria about who/where I want to teach.
I'm old (39), male and British.
I do have a good deal of experience and 'proper' TEFL qualifications.
I am not in Seoul yet but have bought a ticket and have a definite arrival date in early October.
So - some responses - quite encouraging in some ways but hardly a landslide.
What's other folks experience?
