Fallout and Fallout 2 are awesome games. I beat Fallout but not Fallout 2 as the final battle on the oil rig was too much for my character. The post-apocalyptic setting and the unique style was highly memorable.

Bethesda, the developer of Oblivion, bought the Fallout licence and are making Fallout 3 right now with the same engine as Oblivion.

The original Half-Life should be worth a look if you like FPS.

I'm currently playing Oblivion on my Xbox 360 at 720p with 4xAA plus HDR, courtesy of the ATI card.

BTW, about oblivion- the pain in the ass is how easy it is to get ridiculously overpowered. My mage character ended up being the: Archmage, leader of the knights union, gladiator champion, high up in the assassin guild, high bullabaloo in the fighters guild and all that before level 8.

I was all that at level 5.. I never leveled up.

well, yeah, but thats kind of cheating, no? I did that leveling up whenever it came about.

FOR those not in the know of the game, in Oblivion you level up by using class skills- stealth, evocation, swords, etc. Once you get 10 points, you go to sleep, and level up. Here's the rub, the bad guys level up with you. That's right, if you don't level up, you can get all the high powered gear and fight rats and goblins the whole time. So, characters like the one I mention, ostensibly a mage, can become an expert warrior and never level up, because those aren't class skills.
