| from the looks of things, all of us are experiences the same "wire-choke" problem. A little of that plastic stuff will help with airflow. Definitely. |

I'm not using a front in-take fan at the moment. The fan supplied with the case wasn't good enough quality so I didn't bother putting it in. I'll get a good fan on my next trip to Yongsan. As it is, the temps are fine. 33c idle and 50-52 full load. The threshold on my processor is 65c so I'm not worried.
Yeah, my wires need cleared up. CL, I think you mean a cable sleeve? Is that what they're called? Anyway, a few cable ties would do the same job.
I'm still researching whether the front in-take fan should be more or less powerful than the rear exhaust fan. There is some difference of opnion but it seems most of the geeks reckon that the front should be more powerful than the rear. Why? Dunno. Something about a vacuum effect being undesirable. Can't get my head around it!! |

I'm not proud of my machine at this point. I mean, it's getting pretty long in the tooth now compared to the ones posted here. I did clean it up the other day...it polishes up well.
Anyhow, some nice rigs, gents.

hahaha. funny.
Man, I am STILL trying to figure out how to not let my PC control the fan speed. I am tired of that crap. Right now, I have ~600rpms on both front and back and the current temp is at 39. I want the fans at a higher speed!!!! |

call me crazy, but, I like to have COMPLETE control of my PC. I don't like the fact that my PC controls my fans. |

Nothing in the BIOS, mate? I know Asus have a Qfan conroller in the BIOS; it will throttle the fans up when the system is hot and back down again when it's cool. Perhaps your Intel board has a similar feature? "Fan speed control" header...check the manual or the BIOS thoroughly (though I;m sure you have already).
You have the latest BIOS for that beast, yes?

I have just adjusted it to always on. However, I now control the fans using the two dials in front. before, the motherboard was controlling it. It's perfect now.
edit: I am keeping them around 1000RPM's while I sleep. 1600 to 2000 when I am gaming. |
