|
|
You know when you're at the supermarket? You stand there humming and hawing about what the hell you want to drink.
For me, it's a real puzzle sometimes.
There's always Chilsing Cider or green tea or water. Juice can be too acidic and as fattening as soda. I sometimes think soda is healthier than store-bought juice.
The cider is good. It's not too sweet. But variety is a concern. Coke is, well, coke. I always cringe when I see that one. Good with pizza or fried chicken, but that one's gotta be the worst. I enjoy ordering pizza from my local I Soek Min. They have cold Pepsi on hand. Funny about Pepsi. Hardly see it in the stores. I prefer it to Coke, but I wonder about the caffeine factor and being able to sleep.
Anyway, I've tried the orange Sunny Time about as many times as I can count on my right hand. Had it a couple of times this week, including last night, and have decided that it's my new favorite soda. They also have grape, pineapple, and maybe some others. They don't turn my crank though.
What I really can't get over is Fanta. Fanta orange, anyway. It's not good. I really miss Orange Crush, or maybe even Minute Maid orange soda back home. I've always found that orange soda is good once in a blue moon. But when it's good, it's really good. |

Chilsung Cider is just Korean 7-Up. You should try some Korean drinks.
I recommend the apple demi-soda, which you can't get back home. Or try the thin cans with the pine needles on the label. It's really good. And of course you can't come here and not try Pocari Sweat at least once. Great hangover drink. Anyone ever tried Milkis? |

I'm not a big fan of the Demi soda's. Isn't Milkis a cream soda? I've had that. It's ok. Maybe really good when it's super cold. Only had the small cans from the super.
Pocari is a sports drink. I sometimes have that, but I don't really want to drink that.
Not sure what you mean by the pine needle drink. Maybe the aloe one? There's also that green bottle juice. Some sort of fruit from Korean or Japan. I forget the name of it. It's pretty good though. And the red one. What the hell fruit is that? Oh man. My brain's not functioning. Must eat. |

Apple Demi Soda is just about my favorite thing in the entire world. I'm going to have to import it or something when I go back home.
I was also shocked by how good the aloe drinks are. The first time I was offered a bottle, I was disgusted. It's aloe! And it has chunks floating in it! But amazingly tasty. |

My local E-Mart has organic ginger ale. Nice for a change. A bit expensive at 2000 w and some change for a can, but worth trying. |

One that's really good, I mean really, really good, is the peach drink in the small bottle (I think it has a pink cap). Those small bottles can be kind of pricey and they're not big enough, but oh man! |

This is what I was talking about. It's basically essence of pine needles in a can. I know pine doesn't sound edible, but it's really good.

I'll have to try that pine drink.
The drinks I couldn't remember the names of before are 석 류 (some kind of plum):
and 매 실 (pomegranate):
The peach drink is from Sunup:

If you mix the pine bud drink with gin, soda, and two pieces of lemon you have a very nice little cocktail. I call it the "Mr.Clean" or the "Pine-sol."
It's so fresh and so clean clean.
I'm serious actually...it's really good! |

All of those Korean drinks are good. The Pomegranate one I was addicted to for a few weeks, but it got to be too sweet for me. The demi-soda is one of the superior soft drinks in the world, I'm convinced.
I tried something for the first time last week at one of those insta-coffee machines. It was a white drink, I think made from rice. I can't remember what it was called but it was fantastic. Anyone know what it's called? |

Aloe juice!
Drank so much of it here.
I can feel the goodness inside.
Swear it cures all digestively.
And tastes mighty fine, addictive. |
