yeah....lotte isn't doing that great either...but they're better than my bears. the thing with lotte is, they need to spend a little more money and then they could actually compete. they just picked up 2 more foreign players and they should have an immediate impact. i like lotte's new unifroms too.

Hey there. I was wondering how I would be able to get tickets for the baseball games. Is it as easy as going to the stadium before the game and getting tickets or not? By the way, I am in Kwang-Ju. Thanks!!

I was at Meudeung Stadium (the Gwangju stadium - home to the Kia Tigers) last weekend and getting tickets is no problem. We just showed up at the gates and got tickets right away for 5000 won, there were plenty seats left. Unfortunately the Tigers lost but it was still worth a visit. One thing to look out for is the dudes dressed in tiger costumes Shocked They were very excited at seeing us foreigners and decided to follow us and do a crazy dance!

yeah..tickets for KBO games are pretty easy to get....and they're cheap too. my suggestion is to try to buy them off the ahjumma scalers outside the stadium...tix are about 2,000 W cheaper.

Great site. I'm not in Korea yet, but I'll be there at the end of August. Will I still have time to catch some games?

thanks!! sign up for the forum, it has stats, schedules, standings etc all in English about the KBO.

As for being able to watch some games, I'm headed back to Korea in August as well and plan to go to some games at jamshil. they have games thru aug. and early sept. i'm hoping to get everyone from the forum to meet up and go to a game. it will be a good drunken time. Laughing

Two great sites for the three little asian tigers baseball, the guy andrew wong is always on it! But I think it's easier to say things on the hyperboards site, so if you go to a game, give a synopsis so I can feel what it was like when you went! Go LG! Yongtaek Park, the Rickey Henderson of the KBO! The third site is an english teacher forum with a Doosan Bears fan page, great pics, but hasn't been updated in a while.

How many people does Jamsil stadium hold? I trying to guess last night and I put the figure around 35,000. How do the other stadiums compare?

Alright, this might be the dumbest question ever, but here goes... How do people in Korea choose a team allegiance? is it geographic or do they simply select a team based on uniform or what? I just want to make sure I choose the right team to root for when I arrive...

i would say it is mostly due to geographic location as well as if they like the company that owns them or not....

There's a guy called "Mr. Yagu" who is a KBO advisor and columnist for a couple of Engurishee language publications. I'm sure he'd help ya out with any questions or direct you to more info sources.

Swell guy.
