Can anyone recommend a good recruiter?

I tried searching this topic, didn't see much positive information about specific recruiters. Please point out pertinent threads/posts I probably missed.

I thought I was well-prepared when I first went over to teach (had made a trip as a tourist, knew Seoul a little, and could communicate and read/write Korean). Man was I wrong, I picked a terrible hagwon.

Now that time has dulled the pain a little, I want to teach for another year or two. I like to think I know some of the danger signs, but if left to my own devices I will probably fall right into another hell hole. I don't really want to go through all that weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth again. Any comments, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I recommend that you try Jimmy Seo email address [email protected]

A job through him fell through after my original degree had already gone off. To my horror, I found out that my university had adopted a policy of non-replacement. Only a tatty letter declaring that such and such degree had been mislaid would be made available. .

In the interim, another recruiter had found a suitable position and she was then detailed to get the degree from Jimmy, if she could..

Not only did he go to some lengths to establish her ID, but also posted the degree certified mail.

He was never testy at any time, despite my rather abrupt and insulting mails to him when I had thought my degree was a goner.

This was back in 2005 and I'm unaware if he still operates. Always meant to commend him and now I finally have.

He's a real gentleman.

I had a good experience with Planet ESL. Very upfront and helpful. I worked directly with the director, Michael Harding. He was unfailing patient with all of my issues (I didn't even have a passport when I first applied!) He was also prompt with answering my questions and was easy to contact.

Jimmy Seo and Rob Larsen are a really polite chaps, and are very friendly and helpful.
Henry at Corvia consulting is also real good.

I found these people extremely helpful to me, and a pleaseure to deal with. Very Happy

Find a job you are really happy with, but also go for interviews to other jobs to ascertain exactly what employers are looking for and brush up on interview skills. Sell yourself as a prospective asset. Having the best resume you can, will also be good. Very Happy

I used Yun recruiting. You can read the thread I started on it. Some people had some negative to say about them, but I think there's two ladies who work there, and I got the one who worked very hard to make everything happen for me.

I used Jun Recruiting. The specific recruiter I dealt with was Raymond Cho [email protected]

He was really helpful and tried to find the best contract/school for me based on my desires and qualifications. I have no complaints about my school as of right now.

Before I came over here, he called me about once every two weeks or so to see if everything was going ok or to actually talk to me about a school location. He also returned emails very quickly usually within 24 hours. If he didn't know the answer, he'd call the director to find out the information for me.

Overall, very helpful and much more useful than the recruiter I used the first time I came here in 2003.[/code]

http://www.korvia.com/

I have been dealing with Henry ([email protected]) and he has been fantastic. He has helped deal with all of my mundane queries and the information they provide you with is fantastic, especially as I am a first timer.

Henry speaks fantastic english and he conducted my telephone interview. He was able to offer me a variety of positions (public and hagwon) in a number of different locations. When we had discussed the options he then placed me in a public school position.

Every step of the recruitment process feels as though it has been tailored to my needs. I have never felt as though I was being rushed into something and at every stage I have been fully aware of what I am expected to do and what I should expect from him. I can not recommend Korvia enough.
