Hey, I got an E2 in Bangkok but was told a few days ago I needed to go to Japan and get a new one as the director listed on mine was for a Seoul branch and I am in the burbs in a new branch that has a different director name. So I was taken to Immigration today and given an Exit Order from the Ministry of Justice ordering me to be out of the country in 2 weeks. I am being sent to Osaka wednesday and am just a little curious as I have only ben here 2 weeks so cannot vouch 100% for the directors (seem alright though). Just seems like an odd way to do things for a clerical error.

The E-2 visa is applicable only for the school listed on the visa (ie the Seoul branch), but because you're working at a completely different branch/location then you need a new visa.
Why they can't get you a "2nd location" stamp I'm not sure though. You can get permission to work at a 2nd location if you pay a small fee with immigration and there shouldn't be any need to leave the country.

I suppose though that if the original E2 visa has been cancelled already then you'll have no choice but to go to Japan to get the new one.
