Before anyone flames me, I've done a search and read through the FAQs. Might have missed this, and if I did, blame insufficient coffee before posting. My passport expires in January 08. My visa expires in July 07. I need to renew the passport and transfer my E-2 over to the new one. Other than renewing at the US Embassy first (or doing so by mail), what do I need to take with me to Korean Immigration once I have the new passport in hand? I know this has been discussed on here before, but I can't find it.
Thanks... |

| As long as you have your ARC, you don't really need your visa in your passport anymore. The purpose of your visa in your passport is to enter Korea. Once you're in, all you need is the ARC. The only reason you might need it is if it is a multi-entry visa valid the whole year and you plan on going on vacation and coming back before your contract ends. In that case, you might just get a re-entry permit and save the hassle. |

You do need though to go to immigration and register your new passport number with them and they'll note it on their computers, they will also put a multiple re-entry permit in your new passport if thats what you have in your old one.
no charge and it takes 5 min |

| Go to immigartion within 14 days and you'll be sweet. Keep your old passport! I've had immigration on my ass about and also if you've opened any bank accounts, they'll need to see it. |

| Thanks for the great info! I do have a multiple-entry visa. I might travel out of Korea one more time before the visa run, so I might as well get this process started ASAP. |
