|
|
I'm going on a visa run in two weeks to Japan.
Then a further 7 days after I come back I wish to attend my borthers wedding in Tokyo. As far as I have seen on this board and past experience suggests there's no chance of getting my ARC issued before I would need to leave.
So is it possible to get a reentry visa without an ARC being issued first?
and if not then is it possible for me to get a multiple entry instead of a single entry visa on on my visa run (I'm not from the US)? |

The reentry stamp is on your passport. So maybe. Have your school call immigration. |

Unfortunately I have asked them a few times. Ever since I first signed the contract, when it was agreed upon I could have the 2 days off, I have asked them to "please find out", however they have yet to call and ask about this matter even though I have made it very clear it is important to me. |

I am the bearer of bad news with a ray of hope.
You cannot get re-entry without an ARC.
You cannot get a multi-entry VISA if you are not from the US.
Now the ray of hope.
If the immigration office is NOT too busy it is possible to sometimes get your ARC and re-entry processed in less than 7 days (same day service n the 2 previous cases that I am personally aware of) if you explain the situation AND show the airticket.
Get thy butt down to the immi office or skip the wedding. bali-bali

No, that's wrong. The multi-entry Visa is available to citizens of other nations. I think the UK gets it automatically. However, Canadians can clearly get a multi entry stamp. |

Canadians do NOT get a multi entry visa. They get a single entry visa and they BUY (for 50k won) after they are registered (have their ARC) a multi re-entry permit.
Brits can get a re-entry permit for free but they must apply for it.
A multi-entry visa and a re-entry permit are NOT the same thing.
Don't compare apples and oranges. |

You're right. I'm being sloppy with the terms. |

Brits definitely can get multiple re-entry permits. We always have over the last three years. Unfortunately I can't tell you any more than that as work arranges it all for me. At least it's possible though. |
