On Tuesdays and Thursdays I start at 3:30, my last class finishes at 5:55 after which I go home. All this on a full time wage. My director's fine with it. My friends are jealous.
Anyone else able to to this? Or am I just lucky? |

Do you work at a Hagwon? If so, I would do the same thing. If I'm done for the day, I'm not going to hang around. If you work at a public school, there may be something in the contract saying you have to be at the school for X number of hours per day.
If the boss is fine with it...screw the others. |

Ditto. The Korean teachers have to stay, however. This has been a three year source of never ending guilt. |

Guilt....I feel the guilt too.
I just walked by my school- it's 10:00. School was over at 5:30. The Korean teachers are all still there. They're always still there.
God knows what they're doing.
I know, the dave's jerk-offs will say it's just pointless face time. Maybe it is. But they have to do it. Don't tell me they can just leave when I do and everything will be fine. They can't. And it sucks.
But I'm not gonna stay longer than I have to. Won't help. |

Cheers!
I have 2.5 hour days on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri., but don't feel any guilt leaving after that. As long as I'm preparing good lessons, what else can i be expected to do? |

2.00 - 5.40 Tue/Thu. I would have quit long ago if it weren't for the light load. Don't know why the Korean teachers stick around. Actually, haven't seen one last longer than a year yet. Good on 'em! Doubt they'll get a much better deal elsewhere, however. |

I have sort of a reverse thing. The school days begin, technically, at 2:30. But on Mondays I don't have class until 4:30, and not until 5:30 on Wednesdays. So I'll stroll into work around 3:30 or 4, while the Korean teachers have been working since noon. Oh, the guilt. |

Is that right? So you don't have a full day of classes?
I wouldn't have a loss of face in leaving early. Maybe a loss of backside flying out of the front door but no loss of face believe me! |
