Jobs and living GOTTA BE BETTER in Korea than the drab little world I live in here in Taiwan. . .so I'm off, new things, new horizons. . .since all I see from my window is an iron-barred balcony, brick wall. Schools and co-workers aren't much better. I knew the pay and jobs were better in Korea too. But looking for some feedback before I get there.
Taiwan was really corrupt. They lie, dump you from jobs without reason, make you work like a slave, and practically treat you like dirt. So how's Korea different? Is it true the Koreans will cancel my contract in the 11th month? Should I watch out for cars there, and/or is it okay if I bring my scooter?
I also have five dogs, a cat, three iguanas, and a snake. Wonder if they don't mind I keep them in my apartment.
BTW, is it true some of those old women in the market have connections? |

"I don't follow, just who do they have connections with?"
Not with who. It's psychic. You know when you see a flock of birds in flight or a school of fish all change direction at the same time. It's the same connection that drives the herd instinct. When one learns of a discount, she flashes it to all the other local ajummas, and they all move at once. Like that herd, they don't go around, they go through....you. |

I've heard that working in Taiwan is very relaxed and less hard work. Plus the weather sounds a lot warmer. |

I have heard the opposite from teachers who went from Korea to Taiwan sayiing that they'd never go back to Korea. It depends on the individual and your working environment. Just get your paycheck and go home. Life's a whole lot better when you approach it that way. |

Taiwan is better for living, no doubt. Korea is better for cash, that's it. |
