I have bank transfered to FOUR different people through Dave's.
The vast majority are honest.
Kinda cool to know their real names too (to deposit into their account).
I do feel more safe when it's a regular poster over a newbie/rare poster.
Don't know this Steveo. |

I've also done mail order deals numerous times and never had a bad deal yet.
Sorry to hear your deal went sour. Maybe Steveo will pipe up here and expalin himself...
I think warning people not to do "mail order" deals is a tad extreme, although I can understand how you must feel. |

With the personality of some on this board, I sometimes think wiring IS the safer bet. |

the VAST majority of people buying and selling on this site are honest; the sume involved usually aren't enough to be worth being otherwise.
If you feel that you have been ripped off, you can go to the police, and they will use the bank account information to find the seller, assuming he hasn't left the country.
It may also be a genuine misunderstanding / mistake, though I presume you've been PM'ing the guy with no joy, before posting here. |

According to this post, Steve O has taken off for Toronto already.
http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=78263&highlight=
Maybe if he left for Canada before you sent the money, you might be able to reverse the wire-does anyone know if that is possible or not?
It would be nice if there was a better way--I'd suggest, if you don't mind the trouble, that buyers might send half of the money for larger ticket items, then the rest as soon as the seller emails the tracking number from the package. Korea post has a very nice tracking system on their website, as long as you can make out the basic Korean.
That way, I believe it is possible to suspend delivery if the buyer does not follow through with the second payment.
It's not perfect, but might offer a bit of security.
I've been ripped off a couple times on ebay, but not here--yet. Sorry about your situation. |

Of course, this steveohan may have left the country, but he doesn't cover his tracks very well--try a google search of his ID.
My guess is he wasn't trying to screw you, and if he has any decency, he'll do what he can to make it right once you track him down--try his ID@hotmail. |

That post is from 2005.
However, if Steve has left the country it could be that he just hasn't checked his PM's in a while. He was a regular on these boards for quite a while, even on the Buy and Sell board, so I don't think he is the type to rip anyone off.
To the OP, i'll bet that if you hang in there for a while, he will probably contact you in the coming weeks, after he gets settled and checks his messages. I don't know the guy, it's just a hunch. |

I bought his Xbox from him. I paid too much but he delivered it to me. Sorry to hear about your problem. I might have his email around here, but I think I trashed it. |

Use paypal. You don't get your product, file a claim and get your money back. |
