AKKKK! Church of God was roaming my building in Miguem tonight! I was in the elevator and two of 'em jumped on.

I thought I was going to have to drop-kick them both when they started following me. Can a Church be sued for stalking?

I didn't tell the missionaries in the Imae sector where I lived, so it was just a random thing.

Unless they followed me.

It's not paranoia if they're really after you!

I never wanted to throat punch anyone so badly.

Things have been so bad at my station I've now written a few different words for harrasment in hangul on a small piece of paper and keep it in my wallet. When I am approached I flash it to them like a badge and make sure they can read it.

I love the way they select an apartment block...knock on each door as theough there was a fire in the building..and then if you answer (thinking it might be one of your drunk mates needing refueling) they stand there with their foot on the door holding it open so you can't just close it again.

I only stand repeating 'not interested..have my own beliefs thank you..over and over and pull at the door until they give up...takes a while.

Oh it s Korea. Surprised

the best response to this kind of intrusion is to answer the door naked. i did it the other day. they were gone faster than the last bud at a bong party.

I don't do that cause it might be mates at the door. If it's someone that ignored my "no religion" sign, I'll drop my pants and scream at them to suck my cock. They're USUALLY gone in mid-zip.

What I loved about Laos and Thailand, no Jesus freaks around.

In Laos theres a law against prostelysing, not a big fan of restrictions on religion but man that was nice.

I still cant believe I have seen any in Thailand

be careful if you walk through Samsung Plaza at around 8-10pm cuz there are at least 5-6 people looking to talk to you. i get so annoyed with them night after night. last weekend i had someone approach me while i was waiting for the bus and i tried to be polite by telling them i was not interested and that i have been bombarded lately with people trying to talk to me about jesus. she asked if i minded her leaving a magazine with me so i could read up on something. when i told her that i did mind and that if she left it i'd just throw it away she had a shocked look on her fast, before finally stuttering, 'ok...ok...tha...thank you'

I used to have a t-shirt that i made myself. It had the words 'Say no to Jesus' in big letters on it.
Of course, sometimes it actually attracts the weirdos...

A good friend was approached a couple of weeks ago by members of COG. When they started their canned presentation, he interrupted them "Hey, I heard about your church! They smiled "Yes!" My friend continued "You guys are lost, you need Jesus!" and started praying out loud right there on the street - "Oh Lord, please save these lost and wretched souls from hellfire and damnation! Show them the real Jesus!" They retreated very quickly.

My friend told me last night that now, after his little act, COG members in our little town avoid him like the plaque.

I guess in their minds if you just say "No thanks" or "I don't believe," you need to be saved. However, if you act like another crazy so-called Christian from another church, you are the enemy and must be avoided.

You know, I've only found my way through page "whatever" of this thread, but I'd like to put the breaks on this sort of idiotic statement, taken as some sort of gospel. That is, that even real, thinking, feeling humans can't help but look with lurid interest at human tragedy and gore.

I've never understood the creepy idea that the train crash was so compelling that I didn't WANT to take in every horrifying detail but I HAD TO, because it's HUMAN NATURE to revel in leering at such tragedy.

I have never had to keep myself from looking at train crashes or car wrecks to make sure I could ID every bloody organ, but then, I have a very vivid imagination that doesn't need to get its thrills vicariously through the suffering of others.

Now that I think about it, perhaps that's a peculiarly Christian trait I am blessedly free of.

It's not idiotic; it's human nature. There is even a term for it: rubbernecking. Morbid curiosity also comes to mind. That's not to say everyone does it, as many don't; however, many also do. BTW, I believe the word you were looking for was brakes, not breaks.

brakes. Quite right. Mistakes are human nature, too, as are any number of repulsive practices that should be discouraged instead of accepted by people whose, for instance, morbid curiosity gets the better of them. Sheesh - as though there being a word for something nasty makes it any less nasty.

Anyway, to get somewhere back in the neighborhood of this thread's topic, grown ups can look away when they need to and not need to feel ineluctably drawn into something that they then have to turn around and call being accosted.

edit: just adding some missing ofs
