http://fenopy.com/fakefinder/

The movie/music industry uploads fake torrents (a honey pot). They get your IP and then complain to your ISP. This site lists the known fakes.

Strange...I did a search for a very popular torrent and I got 1661 matches (all different)...

Next to useless search engine.

Sorry, I had high hopes for it.

I downloaded PeerGuardian2, but it doesn't seem terribly user-friendly. Also, when I go to an "IP checker", it instantly finds my IP. Any idea what's going on?

all peer guardian does is essentially block ip's that are flagged as malicious from connecting to you thus blocking them from finding your ip address. It doesn't hide yours.

I tried a bunch from the top 100 of PB...either got 600+ results or nothing (which is good, I guess)

PG2 doesn't hide your IP. It blocks ranges of IPs from connecting to you. It selects ranges that have been identified as anti-P2P and bans them. It's very user friendly. If it's in your task bar and it's blue, it's working. Just make sure you don't block HTTP...or some of your webpages won't load.

PS. if you notice some of your applications aren't updating properly, try disabling PG2 and manually updating. For example, I couldn't update F.E.A.R. because PG2 was blocking their server.

I think that was the problem: it was automatically blocking HTTP.

Actually, that's the point. There are 1661 fake files floating around for what you searched.

The solution? Unsecured wifi.
