Can one find Tai Chi lessons in Seoul relatively early in the morning, because I have to be back to Ilsan by 1:30 i.e. leave Seoul by 12:30.
I don't mind if it is bright and early. Has anyone here done Tai Chi?
Thanks... |

I have been looking for Tai Chi and I found out it is called 태극권
Now that I know what it is called, I have been seeing signs where tai chi is offered. I saw a tai chi school in Ilsan last week, when I visited my in-laws there.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it in my own neighborhood, since I don't live in Ilsan.
Why don't you try a naver search on the words "Ilsan" and "tai chi?"
일산 and 태극권
Ilsan has more educated people than the place where I live. Where I live, there's nothing but tae kwon do places for little kids to practice. |

When you find a place for practicing Tai Chi in the morning, please post where because I am looking too. |

I'll ask my wife about it as she does it over near Childrens Grand Park on Saturday mornings at 11AM and I think its offered more often than that during the week. Last nite she was talking about going on Weds AMs |

Do they have trainers or someone to show someone who has never done it before? |

I appreciate it if you can find something early in the morning say at 9 a.m. during the week. I would like to try Tai Chi and maybe we can all go together as wayguks to feel in place rather than out of place. I want to focus on strength and balance and use Tai Chi for certain things before going on to another martial art.
Keep us posted... |

I practiced and studied Tai Chi in various places. There is always a person (the master) who leads and the rest of the class follows. Think monkey see, monkey do. The rest of the philosophy you can study from reading books on the subject or try an internet search. I prefer to find instructors who don't speak English very well because they are more quiet. Seems everytime I try to learn from a fluent English speaking westerner, I get tired of all the talking and it breaks my concentration. |
