My 18-month-old daughter and I have been playing in a "Passball" tournament in our livingroom every evening and we have self-declared ourselves to be Champions of the Universe.
For those of you unfamiliar with "Passball", the game is very simple. There is only one team (my daughter and I), and no opponent. Dribbling is optional, but running around aimlessly is a must, as is passing the ball between the two players on the team. The ball can be passed in any manner, at any time. There are no points, but we are always the winners. Perhaps the best part of this young sport is that only a ball, a livingroom, and enthusiasm is needed.
However, there is a twist; Mom can enter the game at any time. If this occurs, the ball is then passed between the three members of the team, aimlessly, with all of the above-mentioned aimless running.
Also, taking unplanned breaks is apparently a big no-no to the youngest member of the team, who also is the referee and the decider of when the game is officially over.
I'll keep you all up to date on how we fare in our next game, but I have a feeling we will be retaining the Championship of the Universe! |

My daughter might take issue with your declaration of being champions of the universe. She is older and has more experience. And in a few more weeks our team will have 4 players once my son can walk without falling down. |

Obviously, there can only be one "Champion of the Universe". Therefore, I refer you to the rulebook, rule 3.17, section (a), which states: "...whoever declares themselves as the Champions of the Universe first is hereby considered to be the, one and only, Champions."
Section (b), which is also relevant, says simply: "Nyaaaa nya, nya-nyaaaaa, nya."

I refer you again to rule 3.17 (a,b)

Surprisingly, having more players may not actually be an advantage, as SuperHero insinuates. Since there are no points, the only rule that really matters is rule 3.17 (a,b).
At best, I'd be willing to crown SuperHero and his family's team as, ... um... I got it!
Intercontinental Champions. (that's got a ring to it, eh/huh?) |
