Troll Bait:

Interesting article but its author is a wee bit uninformed. For more than a decade at least a wide variety of bookshops have sold art books in which nearly nude Chinese models appear. Moreover, the availability of pirated DVDs with nudity is commonplace, even in small towns.

So although mainland China seems puritanical by comparison to freaky Japan, it has "come a long way, baby."

It is also not only politically motivated; their is a deep-seated resentment of public nudity among most (but not all) mainland Chinese.

Leave it to dimwit journalists who make three day stopovers in Beijing to sensationalize this story.
