My friend and i are looking for a couple of basic mountain bikes, just wondering if there are any used bike stores in Seoul.
I live in Jamsil and have had a pretty good look around this area and found nothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

honestly, if you're looking at bikes that you can thrash the hell out of, you can buy new ones for less than $100 ...

You could check the local buy/sell papers, although it's all in Korean. If you're looking for something of reasonably good quality, I have a hardly-ever used bike that I don't want to sell, but my wife does. It was about 400,000 or so a couple years back, and it has been ridden a few times and stored inside ever since. I'd want about 230,00 for it. If you're really interested I could send pictures to you.

Just down from Jamsil is Olympic Park. Coming from Jamsil take the righthand fork in the road and you will see a couple of bicycle shops on your right, they might have some second hand bikes for sale.

My first year here, I bought a second-hand bike (heavy crappy mountain bike) for 50k at a bike shop that also had new bikes, and just last week I helped a friend buy one for 40k (one of those ones with little wheels) at another place.

It's worth simply stopping in at every little mom&pop bike store near you, especially if they don't look very upscale, because any of them could have something.

Never seen a shop with only used bikes though.
