|
|
Hey i'm looking for recommendations on computer speakers. I found that a lot of people say the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers are really good. But they aren't on danawa.com . So what else is good that's available in Seoul? I'm mainly going to be using these for music and not games.
Thanks,
Jared |

I've got a set of Creative Inspire 2.1 2400 and they are very very good - especially as I picked them up from this forum for 20,000

how much are you looking to spend? that's the dreaded question.
Swan M200 speakers are considered audiophile quality, but it might be a whole lot more than you are looking to spend.
i use headphones mostly so i don't pay too much attention to computer speakers, but i suggest investing a nice pair of speakers instead of getting those fancy 5.1 speaker sets since those are more for gaming than music. |

I picked up the Creative Inspire GD580 system last year for 125,000w. It has a built in DTS and digital decoder. The system is 5.1 channel compliant. I use it for music and with my T.V. and DVD movies. I have been very pleased. It all depends on how loud you are allowed to crank it in your building. My neighbors used to complain when I played music. so take that into consideration. |

You could always pony up the cash for the Klipsch 5.1s. Those, at least, are listed on danawa. |

As much as I would love to recommend great big quality speakers, which I would love to use myself, I don't think that's feasible in Korea. Turning a good rig up past about 30% will have your neighbors banging on your door.
The convention of live and let live doesn't really apply in Korea. Zero noise is the only level of noise tolerated by most Korean neighbors. Except for vegetable trucks and children!! They can be as noisy as they like!! |

Get the Bose.... I did and they're terrific. Got mine at COEX a couple of years ago. Brilliant for music and great for movies as well.

i'm going to repeat my original post, if you're using it mostly for music, invest in a nice pair of main speakers (2 ch) and skip on the 5.1 stuff. for gaming and movies, yeah the 5.1 speaker set up would be nicer, but for music, just having a pair of really nice mains is probably going to be better. |

My sentiments exactly. Firstly, I have Swan speakers and they are fantastic! I've got the 2.1 setup.
Also, I don't know how much I've spent on headphones, they are awesome but since switching to speakers I've enjoyed the "airy" feel. Nevertheless, I too would like to get a pair of wireless. I've had Sony wireless and they were ok, but would like better paddings made of something other than foam. |
